We are pleased to report on a new initiative under development by the Bioclima Network: the establishment of a seed bank. As part of our commitment to biodiversity conservation and the study of ecosystems, we have participated in a training course provided by the Center for Forestry Research and Experimentation (CIEF) on seed collection and management.
The course provided us with the necessary knowledge to start this project, which aims to collect and preserve representative samples of the genetic diversity of the plant species present in the plots of the Bioclima Network. This seed bank will serve as a resource for scientific research and conservation of local ecosystems.
We have also had the opportunity to learn more about the work being done at CIEF and some of its most important projects at the national and international level, and we have been able to visit its facilities.
Stay tuned for further updates on our progress in establishing the Bioclima Network seed bank.
