Miguel, who is pursuing a PhD with Paola Laiolo at the University of Oviedo, visited us for one month to work on applying Taylor’s Power Law to plant traits, exploring the relationship between trait means and variances and how best to model it. Taylor’s Power Law describes how variability scales with the mean across biological systems, providing insights into the processes that shape ecological patterns.
We greatly enjoyed having Miguel with us and look forward to future collaborations.
